Polar Express

We went to the North Pole last week via the Polar Express. We watched the train pull up…All aboard!!

We were welcomed on board by the conductor….

We had hot chocolate and sugar cookies…

We got our tickets punched…

We got to see the North Pole and Santa & the elves joined us on the train…

Carter told him he wanted a fish for Christmas. :) And Santa asked him if he wanted a BIG fish or a little fish...thanks Santa! He gave each child a bell and signed our Polar Express book. Fun times!

Go Lions

Carter has finally started his first long-awaited team sport...I have never seen a kid so excited about something! With his birthday being late July, he has waited very patiently. We are happy to announce his basketball practice debut.

All in a days work...

Averi is by far our mischievous child...she never stops looking for something to get into! She had one day this week that topped the cake. First she and Carter were playing on the bed, she fell off and bit a hole all the way through her bottom lip. Poor baby, it looked so painful! After Dr. Rob glued it back together we went to get Carter from Davis's house. I ran in to get him and came back to the hands covered in ink. We got home and she discovered the train with the candy in it...she emptied the candy and you can see in the last picture what I have found all around the house ...one of them tucked away in her diaper, each piece with one bite taken paper and all! It sounds like we never watch her, I promise we do!!

Happy Halloween

Just a look back...the kids love dressing up around our house on an everyday basis SO Halloween is really fun for them. Carter dresses up as something different everyday, a coach, cowboy, football player, baseball player, farmer, soccer player, police man, fireman...his creative mind is always working. Here's a look back at our Halloweens. I made these to display at our house during this time of year (stole the idea from a friend). I love to pull them out and think back to my little turtle, BamBam, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, the fireman, and the "girl" dalmatian. I have to laugh at that turtle costume, Adam likes homemade costumes and so I try to do that every year...poor little baby in the awful turtle costume :), he actually only wore it for about 2 minutes.

Today Carter learned how to tie his shoes! And Averi can put hers on...it's a good day!
Also, I am in the middle of Beth Moore's bible study, Esther. It is WONDERFUL! If you get the chance to take this study, DO IT! You will be blessed...I definitely have.

Mi Vida Loca

Yes, mi vida loca pretty much sums it up! We always have crazy things happen to us. Last week Adam was out-of-town for a meeting and Averi comes down with the swine flu, Carter throws up, I'm stuck at home in the middle of it all. It ended up that she had fever for a total of 8 hours, it was nothing, thankfully! I wanted to put a video titled "Swine Flu, Beware" on You Tube of her running all over the house laughing & wrestling with Carter.

The vida loca continued today when Adam got in a wreck going to work. He was side-swiped, spun around a few times, and ended up facing the wrong way in the median. He is perfectly fine! But when he was hit, the other driver took off down the loop going way too fast. Adam called the cops and told them about the hit-and-run. Ended up, the man had a blowout about a mile down the road...SO, it is no longer a hit and run, thankfully! We will see what happens now. He was sad to see his car being towed down the road, I on the other hand was not too sad, I have been trying to get him to get a new car for the longest time so maybe it's a blessing in disguise. :)

Well, I will leave ya'll in suspense...Friday is our annual Halloween costume party and we are the reigning champs, 3 time reigning champs. We will not dissappoint!!!

Averi is 2!!

Hello everyone...I feel like I have been in a cave, no internet for 2 weeks! We are up and running again. I have posted about 5 posts so keep going down and I have lots more to add hopefully in the next few days. I have missed the blogging world so much!

Averi is 2! This is the day the Lord has made, let us REJOICE and be glad in it! We definitely were rejoicing the day Averi Madilyn was born and every day since! She is such a joy to us...always making us smile. She is Miss Personality! She talks ALL the time and has lots to say. She LOVES her sweets. Just yesterday she hid in the playroom so she could eat her second cupcake without me taking it from her. Then she found a Jolly Rancher that she hid in her sock. I was wondering why she was walking around so funny! Above all...she loves her brother! On the day he goes to MDO without her she asks all day, "Where'd Carter go??" Lastly, she loves her shoes (and everyone elses too!)...that is why we had a shoe birthday party. Last year purse, this year shoes, next year maybe jewelry!! It was so much fun. I will add more party pics soon! Check out Adam's chocolate chip pancake skills...Averi got a 2, Carter got a Texas Tech, I got Mickey Mouse...such talent!

GO Tech!

Ok...we are a little overboard with the red and black. I realized this when we went to Academy all dressed in our Tech gear and everyone that passed us had something to say. What we are trying to do is brainwash our children so that they believe there is only one school that is acceptable to attend. (unless someone else is paying of course;).
And check out Averi's new "picture face" she does for all the pics. And the last one...yea this is normal brotherly love.

Golf outing

Carter, Adam, and I went to play golf the other day and it was so much fun. I don't know if Adam was thinking that the whole time since he was having to wait a LONG time for Carter and I plus he carried both of our clubs. (I carried Carter's!) Carter and I ending up "winning" and are looking forward to the next outing. How do you like the one picture of me that was taken? Isn't it funny how moms take so many wonderful pictures of everyone else and end up with one of these butt shots of ourself?!

1st day of school

Carter has been waiting so long for school to start...he was pumped! He had everything set out for days. He looked so big carrying his own big backpack. I asked him what he wants to be when he grows up and he said, "I just want to go to kindergarten when I grow up!" To all the kindergarten teachers in the world...a little reminder how excited your little ones are to see you!

Last swimming days...boo..hoo..

We were all a little sad when the pool closed for the summer because of all the fun times we had together this summer. Carter is quite a swimming dude...he just jumps in and takes off! Then you can see Averi here, all she wants to do is visit the concession stand. She would wait like this until someone felt sorry for her and bought her something. Here are some of my favorite pics from our last swims.

Meet Elli Kate!

Here are some precious pics of Elli, our new niece. Of course, how could she not be so cute with her cute parents! She is 2 weeks old and so SO sweet. Carter is her biggest fan! He held her as much as possible when we visited. These pictures were taken by Ashley's Aunt Domi http://captivatedimages.squarespace.com/

Thank goodness for Tech games...we will get to visit her, hold her, and squeeze her a bunch this fall! Don't forget to wear your red and black tomorrow for game day! GO TECH!

Aloha!!!

We had the most wonderful time in Hawaii...7 days in paradise! It was a perfect vacation getaway! Not much more you could ask for, great friends, beautiful scenery, tons of fun...we were all a little sad to say goodbye (as seen in the last pic ;).
Our favorites were tubing through the caves, the beautiful waterfalls, the pineapple, and the beauty everywhere you look. We went kayaking, swam under a waterfall, snorkeled, relaxed, went to a luau. Adam and I decided that kayaking should be part of pre-marital counseling... at one point he thought it might be quicker to just get out and swim! I kept wondering if the thought of knocking me over the head with the paddle crossed his mind. Lots of laughs!
The best news is that we have a new niece, Elli Kate, born on Monday! She is so precious...so cute! We loved meeting her yesterday! I'll get some pics up soon!

Good news!

We have been smiling around our house lately. First I haven't shared that our Suburban was found! And it's in great shape! It was abandoned at an apartment building. We are so relieved...I've been driving around with a big grin on my face all week!
Also, the countdown is here. Adam and I have 3 days until we leave for Hawaii! We are SO excited...actually beyond excited! He's had his bags packed for days!

Happy Birthday Carter!!!

What a day of celebration it is...Carter is 4!! He has been waiting for this day for so long and we are going to celebrate all day. What a blessing it is to see how much he has grown! We love birthdays around our house! I always said I wouldn't say this but I can't believe he is already 4 years old. Happy Birthday Carter...we love you so much!!!
