What a wonderful thing to hear this morning when I woke up! So many have been praying for Carter to be healed and he is doing so well! I got a birth announcement today from my sweet friend and it had the verse "This is the Lord's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes!" Psalms 118:23 This verse describes the way we are feeling, so thankful that God is healing Carter's foot. He has taken care of us through a tough time and we cannot be happier that Carter is running around playing. I am amazed at how Carter has dealt with it all. Just a list of what he has been through: 12 days in the hospital, surgery on his foot, 8 stitches, 2 MRI's, 4 weeks of IV antibiotics, PICC line, EKG, Blood work every week, and IV medicine every 8 hours...we are hoping he will never be scared of a shot again! We hope to have the PICC line removed on Wednesday and then do oral antibiotics for a couple more weeks! He is SO ready to go swimming so hopefully that can happen soon. Thanks for all the prayers and sweet notes. Please continue to pray for his foot and for the removal of the PICC line to be easy! Thanks!

Just wanted to share a couple hospital pics from Carter's stay. Not really something you want to remember but thought it would be nice to show him one of these days. This is his foot the day we got to the hospital. I wanted to show how normal it looks...crazy!
Carter's most prized toy...our friend Ricky brought him an Ipod with praise and worship music on it. Carter was listening and yelled out real loud "Yes, it has Jesus Loves Me on it!"
One of the many games we played...we tried to shoot the turtles and fish balloons with his foam gun.
Sweet boy...he did so well staying in the bed especially for a 3-year old.

Back in the saddle again
It was home sweet home while it lasted! We are back in the hospital again. Carter had his doctor appts. yesterday and they decided to repeat the MRI and readmit him to the hospital. After the MRI, they decided that his foot needed surgery. So last night they took him into surgery. It was quite a stressful day...to send your 3 year old to surgery is not fun! We are so thankful to God that the surgery went well.
He is such a brave little boy...I can't believe all he has been through. Please continuing praying for us...we can feel the prayers through each step and know that God is the ultimate healer. Pray for Carter's foot to be healed completely with no lasting effects and for our energy and strength. Thanks!

Home SWEET Home
We are so happy to be home! I was about out of ideas on how to keep a 3-year old busy in a hospital room! Carter's favorite game was invented by Adam...Bedpan Basketball. We are so thankful to be home and so glad that we are able to give Carter his medicine here with the help of home health. He's still not walking on his foot much but hopefully he will be soon.
Everyone asks us how this happened and we will never know. I have driven myself crazy trying to figure it out and finally decided that God only knows. My advice is to never hesitate taking your child to the doctor because Carter's foot looked SO normal and look at all he has been through.
Adam and I have been sad too because we were suppose to take Carter to Disneyland in a couple of weeks and our doctor told us that there is no way he will be able to go...stinky, stinky!! We decided that we could probably take him to Six Flags and he wouldn't know the difference except maybe the absence of Mickey and Minnie.
Thank you all for your prayers, all the visitors (we couldn't of made it without you!), the calls, food, just everything. We have felt so loved this past week. I told Adam that I didn't ever want to move because of all the wonderful friends we have.
Please continue to pray for us and for God to heal Carter's foot. I know He will!

First of all, I want to wish my mom a big Happy Birthday! I don't know any other person who would spend the night with their grandson for their birthday. She is such a special, amazing mom and Noni. Carter checked the clock nonstop all day until she was able to get here. Then when she did...he was beyond excited. He told us all to go home because Noni was here!
Carter had to get a picc line put in yesterday b/c they want him to continue the iv antibiotics for at least another week. Adam and I are suppose to be trained on how to administer the medicine and then we will be able to go home after they see that we can do it. We hope that will be Wednesday. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel...yea!!
