Snow ice cream

We woke up to a beautiful blanket of white and 2 very excited kiddos! It has been such a fun season...more snow than ever before. We tried making snow ice cream today:
1 cup milk
1/3 cup sugar
3/4 tsp. vanilla
Add snow

You can see how they liked it!

More pics to come...we are waiting on Daddy to build our snowman!

So sad

We went to visit family while Adam was out of town and I had to stop and get my favorite chocolate pie EVER. This is not just any pie...this is the pie my dad brings me when I'm pregnant and the pie I only offer slices to my favorite people. I thought I deserved a whole pie because I had been keeping the kids by myself all week. First, I hid it from my parents because they are both doing Weight Watchers. Then I carried it all the way home, kept the kids from getting it...it was all mine!
So...when I heard the crashing sound coming from the kitchen I knew something was not good. I run in and first see Carter's scared face then my eyes see MY PIE..upsidedown on the floor. Carter and I both cried! Not really but we did get busy trying to save the pie. We scraped all the bad part off and ended up with this...

Needless to say...we got a DQ blizzard instead!

Pray

I love Wednesdays because it is bible study day! God has been working in my heart and making me yearn for more of His word each week. I love studying the bible with other women and listening to the wisdom each of them have...it is such a blessing! Today we talked about praying for others and using God's word in prayer. One of the women said she has prayed these verses for her children for many years and I loved it. Above all...above education, friends, sports, and all the other things we have to worry about...I pray that our children will love the Lord and be full of joy...to be a display of His splendor...what more could you ask for. This is a great verse to pray for our children!

"...to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve,
to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness intead of mourning,
and a garment of praise intead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of rightousness,
a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor."
Isaiah 61:1-3

How could God NOT be smiling when He sees these precious faces!

Let it snow!

We were covered with snow last week. It was so beautiful with the trees covered and our blanket of white ourside. We had so much fun building our snowman, having snowball fights, and making snow ice cream. Carter and I lasted much longer than Averi...she said it was tooooo cold!

Little Man

Carter is our little man. He gets up early every morning, gets himself fully dressed, eats cereal, checks the weather, and then comes and wakes me up. Adam has been out of town this week so Carter has really been the man of the house. We have a deal that he wakes me up at 8 every morning (I'm a night owl :). So he came in yesterday morning fully dressed, shoes on, teeth brushed and said, "Good morning Mommy, It's 8:00. Today the low is two nine and the high is four three. It's suppose to be cloudy and maybe some rain. Are you ready to get dressed?" I just smiled and thought...I need to tuck this memory away and not forget it because he is so darn cute...my little man!
